Psychotherapy provides a safe space for you to reflect on emotional difficulties, to process trauma, to have someone listen to your problems and to explore how you might modify some of your behaviours.
The ‘Integrative’ part –
An integrative approach blends elements from different psychotherapeutic approaches. These are just some (not all) of the approaches or theories I might use: psychodynamic, attachment, existential, body work and relational.
I tailor my approach specifically to meet your needs. As we work together I will be able to assess which approaches are best suited to you.
The ‘Relational’ part –
Therapy with me is about working together, exploring your inner world and co-creating an environment that helps facilitate change. I view the relationship between therapist and client as something co-created, as well as being vital to the therapeutic work.
Together we can focus on and nurture the relationship you have with yourself.
Via the relationship we build together, and by understanding your relationship patterns, we can also set out to develop and improve the relationships you have with others.
Yes, I offer sessions via Zoom. People often have very busy lives and I know working online can make getting help for your mental health more accessible.
If you are interested in potentially working together, we would arrange a FREE 20-minute Zoom call where I will explain how I work in a bit more detail and you can ask me any questions you have about the therapeutic process. After we meet, I typically suggest taking a few days to decide if I am the right therapist for you.
If you do decide you want to work together, then we will arrange a time where we can meet regularly. In this first session, we will begin an assessment together (this can sometimes go over into following sessions). This process is really about me getting to know you better and understanding what it is that has brought you to therapy. It’s normal to feel nervous, anxious or self-conscious. Don’t worry, there are no right or wrong answers.
